According to Judy Hall, author of The Crystal Bible, crystals are the earth's DNA and they contain records of how the earth developed over millions of years. some have been subjected to enormous pressure, others grow in chambers deep underground, some were laid down in layers, others dripped into being. All of these affect their properties and the way that they function.
Geodes are found throughout the world, but the most concentrated areas are in the desserts, volcanic ash beds and regions containing limestone.
A geode is a large, hollow rock, lined with crystals naturally growing inside of the rock. Formed in nature an by nature, each geode has a different type of crystal and a different type of energy. Over thousands of years, these minerals build crystals that eventually fill the cavity. How long this takes depends on the size of the geode. The largest geodes can take a million years to grow.
Crystals form as a result of the boiling lava that is below the earth's mantle, but they all develop in different ways. Here are some of the various examples:
Quartz is a type of crystal that is created when gasses released from the molten lava rise to the surface as a result of the movement of the earth's plates. When the gases combine with the solid rock on the earth's crust, they cool and solidify into quartz. This can occur quickly, causing the crystals to be small, or it can occur over thousands or millions of years, in which the crystals can grow rather large.
Amethyst Geodes are formed when gas cavities occur in lava beneath the earth's surface. The cavities become filled with liquid that contains silica (quartz) and a small amount of iron. Over thousands of years, the liquid forms into amethyst crystals.
Calcite is a sedimentary stone that forms when rocks on the earth's surface erode allowing mineralized water to drop through the rocks.
Crystals to heal the body
Crystals can focus the mind-body healing connection. But they do not replace professional medical care. Your body, health, and life are precious. Please use wisdom when considering crystal therapies.
Healing stones are formed by minerals, but it isn't the minerals they are made out of that classifies them. Each species contains its own internal geometric structure that can be identified under a microscope. Two crystals can look very different from each other in terms of their colors or external form, but the internal structure is identical, thereby classifying them in the same crystal system.
The energy found within each crystal, resonates with the specific Chakras, helping ring balance to the energy centers.
Chakra means "wheel" and represents the seven major energy centers that keep your body, mind, and soul in balance and in health.
When your chakras are out of balance, over or under active, congested, or blocked it is felt on a physical, mental or emotional level. It can manifest itself in many ways including illness, emotional difficulties, or feeling lost spiritually. Please use our crystal chart on the crystal page to help to match your problem and chakra to a stone that can help.
Crystals have been recognized for their healing powers for all of time and throughout many cultures. The energy found within each crystal resonates with specific chakras, helping to restore balance to your energy centers.1st Root Chakra — Power
2nd Sacral Chakra — Self Worth
3rd Solar Chakra — Abundance
4th Heart Chakra — Love
5th Throat Chakra — Confidence
6th Third Eye Chakra — Intuition
7th Crown Chakra — Connection
Taking care of your Crystals
Healing stones become more effective as our understanding of them increases. The powers of the crystals increase when we program and cleanse the crystals. This is because they absorb and transmit energy, just as humans can. The crystals can become bogged down with negative energy that gets stuck inside. We need to open our chakras and release our stuck energy, and we need to do the same to our crystals in order for them to function to their potential.
